Hey man :)

You definitely had a pumpin track here. My problems is mainly with the overall mixing (of course). But, I know you'll get there some time lol.

Some very nice sounds in this track. Love the bass, and I dig those pianos and those bell-like leads. Those reverse rhodes are pretty sweet too. Sadly.. those drums are way too minuscule for such a large and bombastic track :/ it doesn't really do it justice... I was expecting something a bit more tough and harder. Something to slap me across the face when it broke down and went into the main part of the track. T'was quite a disappointment. But... this is quite nice nonetheless.

You are definitely getting better. I love the feel, and everything seems to flow together quite nicely. A good job fo sho, my man. Ah, I was wondering.. would you mind if I did a remake of this? I have some ideas on how to improve it some more and give it the punch that I know you were looking for :)

A good job, and keep working at it. Big ups.

Quite nice I say.

But the combination between the entire track and the bass itself... it's just not doing it for me, really. Don't get me wrong, I definitely like the track., but I feel like the bass doesn't fit in with the overall "feel" of the track.

Now on to the drums. A bit too much on the high end for the drums, although, quite nicely done. You are a beatmachine lol. Definitely love that break down @ 1:47. Totally awesome.

As for everything else: The leads were nicely done, and the overall effects put into the track fit quite smoothly. If you're gunna do a bass, I think a nice low cut reese bass with some massive sub would definitely fit the track instead of a noisia style bass.

A good job, nonetheless. Keep it going :)

Heh thanks I love makin my beats, I move onto new songs too quickly tho. (headphones r bass biased so theyll always be a bit treble heavy).

This track was kinda just a lil side project though, workin on a larger one which I wanna spend lotsa time on... Thx for the review tho!

I like.. buuuttt.

Needs that DnB beat. I dig the intro for sure. The beat fitted perfectly, but I was expecting the DnB beat to come though right after it. Bass was pretty nice. The effects were cool, for sure. The drums are quite thin, and lack a lot of punch. Although, I am definitely digging that acoustic bassdrum.

Had this been a Liquid Funk or Intelligent Drum N Bass song, those drums would be absolutely prefect.

At most, this (IMO) sounds something like dubstep with the kind of beat the bass it has. It has to be a little bit faster, and lots more variation is needed. I find this quite nice, nonetheless. A big improvement, I would say. Nice job.

thanks for the review!

yea like i said before im not the greatest at DNB but im pretty happy with this attempt. i wanted to try some grindy-ish bass and a nice drum beat going in the background.

this is 170 BPM the drum beat is a little slowed down tho

Very hawt.

Aera directed me your way today lol. This remix sounds prettttty hawt. That breakbeat-ish drum set is very nice. Although, it's kind of missing some of the punch. There's a lot of treble there :/ But, it's good nonetheless. From all your tracks, this one is mixed the best, I'd have to say.

Melodies and the reese mods sounds very sexy. No complaints about that. You definitely need some moar sample packs. I hear the ever so familiar FL crash lol. (You could probably add some delay to that crash for a cool effect ;D) It's a good track. Just need a beef up on da drums, and you are golden.
LOL @ kaizerwolf!! Breakbeat style... OF THE PERCUSSION?!?! XDD)

Big ups,

SteakJohnson responds:

Thanks a bunch man. I gotta lose that crash lol and big thx for all the tips you and aera have given me. That collab you did with ackute was pretty sick btw saw the full vers on youtube. I MUST FINISH ALL THESE tracks someday lol

I have to review this...LOL

Holy JESUS, ROBIN! That was some amen break mind-fucking you did there. It sounds pretty good. But, those breaks sounded a bit too loud... gotta tone it down some. Very glitchy, and very breakcore like. This calls for eargasm of the third kind. :)

The bass was pretty good, but it kinda stayed static for the entire song. You need to break out some modulation on that bad boy. THEN it'll sound sexier. Ah, and you could do with some sub bass on that reese.

Definitely love that sub kick. Very nice.

The sliding synth was pretty sweet, and it fit very, very well in the song. But.. I felt sad when it went away for that quick drop into the amen mind-fuck. You had no melody to hold it all together :( But... besides that.. it was good.

A very nice job. Frequencies sound in order... just need to tone down those breaks.

Alright, I know the mastering isn't the best, but neither are the headphones I'm using. I'll do what you said and reupload.

The problem with the bass was that it was huge to begin with, I had to cut out alot of it to get it to not drown out the rest of the song. I'll see if I can add some sub, but I might just use a seperate one or something.

Maybe I'll just mess with the attack in that drop then? I did that mainly because the song is fairly repetitive. I'm glad you liked the sliding synth, though, I was afraid it sounded too cheasy.

So, thanks for the review and I'm glad you liked the song. :)

I agree with Aera.

We were talking this over. It sounds great, but there's just too much on the high end (I know, because I tend to keep my tracks on the high end as well). The hats drown out the kick and the snare. They don't pull through, and they are just not punchy enough. They sound soo.. muffled. As Aera said, the sequencing is great, but as for mastering it, you need another go at it.

I listened to all three as well, and they just don't really differ from each other.

As for the reese, it sounds great but.. it's empty. There's no real "fullness" to it. No sub, or low mid/end bass to make it sound harsher and grimy. Pretty nice, but keep workin' at it.

SteakJohnson responds:

I appreciate the advice alot, n yeah im workin on pullin that treble down without harming treble in the snare...
and haha the drums sound a bit better since I turned reverb off

Very cools, man.

I'm diggin' that sub bass. It flows very nicely with the beats, and the way it morphs is beastly lol. Could do with a bit more change, besides it repeating, as hip-hop usually does. Maybe some chord progressions to go along with those pianos, some semi-outstanding cymbal or slightly-open hats to go along with it, just to add a bit of colour or variation to the track.

Other than that, it's very simplistic, very chill and relaxing, with some tough beats. I like it. Major ace. Nicely done.

(As for a track for next time... I'm feelin' like some Liquid Funk or Liquid DnB lol)

Sweet.

Feels a lot like an action-style track. Reminds me a lot of breakbeat. That is one sweet break. The strings really bring out the best in this beast. Another idea that should be completed. lol. Again, needs some better mixing on your part, but it's a very nice track. Me like.

Drewsky13 responds:

Hahahah thanks man I'm Tryna figure out how to mix by myself and its extra hard and sometimes I feel I focus too much on mixing and don't really pay attention to the actual song. Anyway thanks I'll peep some of you're new stuff peez ouuuut.

I'm still up for collabing, brah.

Sweet track man. Although it could do with some better mixing on your part, but I love the idea. People could definitely jam to this track man. Doing pretty well lately. Some good, hard beats, and very cool basslines and leads there man. Nice job.

Drewsky13 responds:

fo sho

Hawt man.

Definitely love this one better than the other version. You did well. Both strings, one in the foreground and the background combine pretty nicely. And the beats give it that pretty good progression of the song. It's very nice. And that snare hit with the tambourine just really does it justice. Sorry I haven't look at this one. Been busy with life, and my own tracks lol. Haven't had the chance. You did very nice. I love it.

Drewsky13 responds:
