Alrighty. Pretty goood...

Hmm... Here's the blow by blow:

1. Intro: loving the fade in... Nice and smooth rise out of it..
2. Good job adding a pause afterwards, and then just immediately bringing in the drums
3. Hmm... this song sounds a bit creepy to mee... rather than happy.
4. Are those really xylophones? Hmm... I can'tt ell...
5. Great job with the breaks in the drums
6. Lol. Nice rise in pitch with the synths. That kept me interested.
7. Oh? Done already? Damn... I'm not one for short songs... kinda leaves me open-ended. But the song was great.
8. Great job. Much originality and diversity. I like that.

Well let's see... I don't believe I have any problems with this song... it was pretty well constructed and put together very nicely... although, that rise in pitch.. was a little bit weird for me... it was kind of odd hearing that like right in the middle of the song. It sounds more like something industrial or like darker rather than a happy type of song, if that is what you were aiming for. I feel it ended too abruptly. Just 'bam', it's over... and I was like "......? That's it? o.o Oh... okay. Nice." Nice use of reverb and delay at the end. I love songs that taper out that way. Great job though. A few things that bug me here and there, but I'm, over all, pleased with this production. (It really does sound like someone is having a serious phobia with xyolophones. I could imagine someone running away from it or something, screaming in terror XD) Great job, and I hope to hear more from you. Keep it real~

Wow thanks!
I think I never had such a huge review before! thanks again for that!
I love it that you really listend to it that 'intensely' tho' I never meant this song to be happy I understand your points.
I think I've grown a bit with music making since I made this song and I could clean it up a bit since there is a lot of distortion and not enough EQing but Im still pleased with the result as it is right now.
Thanks again for the review and there's more of my music at my overview page!
(let me warn you, its all pretty different than this song)

Think this could be considerd...

Jazzstep? I think so... it does sound pretty jazzy. Great job. And it does remind me of Megaman in a sense. Probably when Mega's virus busting... yeah... totally can relate to that. Love the pianos, and the drums fit very well. It's like... an action-adventure type song. You can like... imagine someone fighting or just like... running off somewhere heavenly. Great job on the song, mate. Keep it real~ (Awesome intro and outro by the way. That was kick ass.)

KgZ responds:

wow man, thanks alot!

Sounds very awesome.

I love the intro. Reminds me of this one place in Dark Cloud... (video game by the way XD) Here's the blow by blow:

1. Great use of guitar in the intro.
2. Love the synth man. Good job.
3. The kick is too punchy, IMO. It would probably sound better if it was just a tad bit more blunt. It kinda hurts my ears listening to a clicky kick. (alliteration! :D say that 5 times fast.)
4. Hmmm... where's the guitar?! I feel incomplete! XD I think I can hear it in the b/g once the synths and the drums come out full force like that. Oh.. there it is XD
5. I think a little bit more variation should be put on the drums. You have the synths down, and the guitar is excused, since it just fits so well.
6. Great job on the outro. Like how you brought back the guitar.
7. Bit too short for my taste, but I love it either way.

This is a pretty well constructed song. I really like it. I think the kick should be less punchy and more blunt. Oh, and put up the volume on the snares, and lower the volume on the the open hat, but just a bit. It kinda gets in the way of the snare. I could probably listen to this for hours, considering it's very upbeat and calming at the same time. I think a nice orchestral or string like synth, besides the guitar, could fit in there, just to give the song some emotion and feeling. Great job, overall. Keep working at it, and keep it real, mate~

VannillaBear responds:

thanks for all the tips im gna start work on an even better version XD

This was... Okay.

You did pretty well. I'll give you the blow by blow:

1. Great intro. Nice, and general.
2. The airy synth is good, but that little thing behind... that bass synth that just comes in and out.. It just ruins it for me...
3. As the song goes along... I begin to lose my taste for it. I like the drums being repititive, no doubt about that... But I was expecting much more.
4. Everything from the synths to the drums sounds great, all expcept for that little jumpy bass. After hearing it, I just... don't like it anymore...
5. Don't get me wrong, this is a good remix. I've never heard of the orginial song, but this was pretty good.
6. It's not too overpowering, and I've heard some overpowering things lol.
7. I think so much more could be done, but this is pretty good.
8. The bass doesn't do it for me. It jumps in and out... and it leaves me hanging...
9. The outro was okay... nothing too special... but it didn't stand out much...

You need to do something more with this. It has potential, but... it just doesn't do it for me. It's just too much of the same... It needs even more variation. But, you did well. Just keep working at it, and you'll get better. Keep it real~

DJBulwark responds:

'Aight thanks for the input man! I'll definitely try putting in some more stuff and I'll keep my eye out for what I'm doing with the basses next time.

Alrighty! HERE GOES!

Well for starters, when the intro started up, holy shit that was amazing. Here's the blow by blow:

1. Great. Fucking. Intro. There is absolutely no complaints there.
2. All the distortion just makes up the entire song, and it sounds very amazing. Fantanstic job there.
3. As I've said to others before, it's a bit too short for my taste, but I love it nonetheless.
4. The drums go unbelievably well with the all of the distortion. Nice job mixing it up.
5. I though the breaks in the song flowed very well. You've got some talent here!
6. Lol. "Ready for the breakdown?" Awesome man. And you delivered the break down perfectly.
7. It loops like no other. This is the best loop I've ever heard. I thought it wasn't over the first time it finished lol. Good job.
8. Great reese man. All's I can say, dude.
9. You even made the vocals? Damn man. That is some major skillz.
10. YOU THINK YOU DID OKAY?!?!? DOES THIIS LOOK OKAY TO YOU??? THIS SHIT IS THE FUCKING SHIT! IT'S NOT OKAY! IT'S A MASTERPIECE GIVEN FROM GOD LOL.

I feel I have absolutely no problems at all with this. Even with the excessive and massive distortion. It makes up the entire song. Been a while since I've heard anything that sounded so perfect, and has been perfected. Nothing that I would change. Great job man. Keep it real~

Bahdshah responds:

WOOT THANKS DUDE!!!I loved it so much XD Dont worry the full version is coming up soon XD its only gonna be on my space BUT if the demo manages to get front page somehow i WILL post the full version on newgrounds for download ^^ Thanks so much XD

This is pretty good... but...

I feel like there could be so much more done... cause it just feels like something is missing... and it feels... empty. D: You have a great piece here... just haven't done enough with it, but it's pretty good for your first tune that you've actual work and time into. I'll give you the blow by blow:

1. Good starting intro. Sets everything up for the beginning.
2. As the song goes along, it's built pretty well, but I think there's just something missing in the background. Something like a sub bass or secondary synth you could place your foundation on.
3. The drums just sound too blunt... you kinda made them sound... insignificant in the song. Trying using a sliced up version of the amen break (or whatever break suits you best), as many others have used. It sounds much more punchier, and it stands out more. But, the patterns sound great for the song. Good job in that area. Just could've stood out more.
4. Great use of the cut off filter on the starting synth. It interested me.
5. The reese sounds great. Grindy and sawy. Just the way I like it.
6. The outro was pretty good. Glad you added some variation to the ending. It was getting a bit... boring and reptitive, shall I say. But, I don't care much for repetition. Only the song matters to me.
7. (If you want the amen, I could send it to you, if you'd like.)
8. Trying doing something more with the drums, like adding cut off filters, panning, velocity. They should sound more awesome if done correctly. (Note fine pitch sounds awesome if you use it right.)
9. Outro left much to be desired, but good reverb effect at the with the main synth.

Overview:

Add somethings to make it sound more interesting. It just sounds too blunt, and it sounds empty and hallow, but that's what foundations are for, right? :D You did a good job creating it, but you need something more.... and I just can't put my finger on it. It sounds a ibt too short for my taste, cause I usually like songs that range from about 4-6 minutes long, but that's something we all do, as long as you pump out a song, it's all good. if you need help, ask some people here on NG. They're cool people. (Including myself! :3) Good luck on future projects. Keep it Real~

but yeah, thanks alot dude!

I like it... alot. Despite...

The fact that it reminds me of one of the stages in Ape Ecape 1 lol XD. It is very happy. Listening to it as I review... Great opening at around 1:30 - 2:00 It's very happy, and I love it man, I just love it. Great ending. Oh God I want to be you making this song XD You have no idea how much I'd be dancing to this song lol. It's is very awesome. And I love the effects you applied to both the drums and the entire song. You have become my new inspiration for the song I am currently working on. Gret job with this song. I'm gunna go ahead and download thsi song, and learn from it, as well as dance my ass off to it. lol. Great awesome job. Love it man. Keep it real~

Rave4Yourself responds:

LOL!!

I think that may have been the greatest review I've ever gotten!

Seriously! :D

Thanks man, I'll check your stuff out sometime and all that (sorry im in a hurry, no time to write a proper response)

I'll PM ya or something. Thanks for the review, I really enjoyed making this track, glad you understood the "happiness" of it all ;D

Yea I love the end too hahaha, I feel like its not finished though :(

Anyway thanks man, oh and, lol, Ape Escape, thanks :P I guess its not done yet either ;)

Oh and PS while I was making it I had to step back a few feet and dance to it myself haha ;)

Very good!

That intro struck my ears so well! It's very good~! Ooh... it does sound creepy. DUDE! THAT LAUGH!!! OMG... ~chills~... I need to know where you got that laugh XDDDD Very awesome track. Keep working at it lol. Keep it real~

~[IZK]

axeFX responds:

I dont know where I got that laugh... from some random sample pack

This is pretty good... but...

I feel that the percussion just feel a little bit too... soft. And the sound you have playing that sounds like a guitar just... a bit too repetitive. But other than that, it really does go well with the airy synth you have behind it, and the little falling bass lol. Great fade out too. It kinda left me hanging though... I was like... waiting for the drums to kick out lol. But it's a great track nonetheless. The randomness pulled it all together. Great track, and keep working at it! Keep it real~

~[IZK]

Seattlesith7 responds:

Thanks, I always try my best on the songs I make. But I'm not usually one for percussion, so the stuff I make usually sounds pretty different from what you hear, which includes the fact that the drums were kind of soft.

OMG! YOU USE FL STUDIO TOO?!

Sorry Lol. XD I don't know that many people who do, besides myself, Parathile, my brother, and now you. I have like some major questions for you if you don't mind :D I'm like.... noob when it comes to making a bass line worthy of a dnb song. Would you mind teaching me or just giving some pointers or something? I reeaally need help with that. Great song by the way. Totally kick ass. Doesn't compare to my song lol X3 Check it out when you can. Let's compare notes X3 Called 'Stranger in the Desert' by the by. Thanks in advance!

~[IZK]

S3C responds:

only 80% of the people here use FL studio ;D

to be honest, i'm quite new to DnB myself, check Navs review below for some great pointers. Just putting that out there - but if you like an element or two in this song and you would like to incoporate it into one of your tracks, I'd be more than happy to help you!

Thanks for the review and interest! Sure I'll leave you a review once I get the chance :)
