Kick ass man!

Very awesome a clear. Sounds totally professional. Great job on this song. I am at a loss for words, and I have absolutely no complaints. I'll be watching you ;D You have some awesome stuff here. I hope to learn from you =)

hopeku responds:

Haha, i'm really glad you like my stuff. Thanks!

Ehhh.. Pretty good.

An interesting attempt on One Winged Angel. I think it could a little bit more of a touch-up, but You're doing pretty well! The sounds you used sound generic, and like... midi-fied, for a lack of a better word. More like 8-bit, if anything else. Doing well though. Search for more realistic orchestral sounds. The brass you used sound too video-game-ish, but on another note, that tubular bell sounds really awesome. Nice job.

Shiverwar responds:

Thanks. This is by far the longest and hardest project I have done/am working on. I still haven't perfected it, but this is in my opinion the best one I have done so far. I used a soundfont for this, so that's why it sounds video gamey. It is, in fact, a soundfont with the instruments from the game. :D Credit to Joshy676 for sending it to me. Anyways, thanls for your review and I'm glad you like this one. I do hope I can come up with something better soon.

Eh, not bad for a quicky.

Much missing, much to be desired, and more work to be done with the TS404 and the 3xOsc. Too much like extended normal synths. But, it's not bad. You could do more with this. Change that 3xOsc into a bass, or that TS404, and you're golden XD An interesting loop though. I like it. Keep it real~

Well... Thank you for your review! :D
I like your positive attitude to this, which does help my ever-so-stressed mood at times. I've been listening to your music myself for awhile and would say a review from you is quite an honor!

Holy Shit Ceb.

You have outdone yourself my good man! =O That breakbeat is the shit. I love Carol of the Bells... and I certainly love playing it on my viola. That breakbeat is just soo sexy man. It kind of have a old school feel to it, as if a real orchestra just comes out to sing it. Whoa, what a weird outro lol. I like it!! So going to fave this! An absolutely great job. Love it all the way, and keep it coming. This was awesome. I'll bet that the next will be just as awesome and sexy haha XD Keep it real~

Cebster responds:

wait you can play the viola???? no way thats awsome man. thanks allot. oh and trust me my next song i plan will be very sexy indeed. ;}

Not bad, not bad.

You did pretty well. Here's the break down:

1. Intro: I dig the intro, was thinking that this would be a very calm song... but then you transitioned pretty quickly into that 160-170 bpm drum and bass beat... something I didn't like at all =/ Then after that speed up, you slowed it down afterwards after 2 mins or so of listening to that upbeat part... minus points for that =/
2. Sounds okay so far, but I think the beats could be much tougher. Punchier snare, and a much harder kick would be better.
3. One thing I noticed about the beat... it's not the usual drum and bass beat. The 'bum..pish, bum-pish'. It's fine, but you should have probably started with that.
4. After hearing it about three of four times, it gets a bit annoying. The synth especially, that main melody. Don't like it at all. But that's just me. To each his own.
5. Outro: that was a cool outro. Nice fade out.

Well, the song over all is pretty good. You need to work on your transitions. They feel a bit odd and awkward, especially when you're trying to speed up a song that starts of calmly like that, and that slow.

Beat-wise, it was pretty good. You could have done the beats a bit more justice by making them much tougher. They seem too blunt for this particular song.

Synths: they sound too annoying... I kinda cringe after hearing it a few times. Too high in pitch. Work on that.

Everything else is pretty good. You set up a good foundation in the beginning, but the problem was that you sped it up too quickly and too abruptly. I think it was meant to calm and slow. But that's just me. Either way, you did pretty well, and I congradulate you on that. Good job. Keep it real~

Psy-nigma responds:

Personally to tell you the truth I don't like this song to much either.

But something about it just makes people love the energy that it packs.
I have done a number of remakes of this track. some without the slow intro that just gets dropped. others that go into mortal kombat at the end, some without the weird transitions and helicopter effects. and one that just takes this song and makes it go into a massive build.

I plan to do one more remastering of the track as part of my new years resolution, taking the best qualities of all the mixes and making this song sound professional. I plan to do an overhaul with the drums cleaning them up and making them more defined. I also plan to do a better transition and builds between the verses and I also want to custom make a new lead synth.

Thank you for your time to really review my song. I apologize that it isn't one of my newer mix's of the track. I will send you a pm when the final version is released.

Awesome track.

Great job on this one. Really dig the darkness of the track. Although, I think the drums are little bit 'generic' in terms of beat. The usual ol' "bum..pish, bumpish". Always love that beat, but you need to kind of mix it up a bit you know? Like the use of cut-off and resonance + low band pass. Cool combination. You some more variation with the melody, but other than that everything is great and in place. Great job. Keep it real~

Terror-Proof responds:

I know where your coming from on the drum side of the track and yes i do agree with you, they are VERY generic. But still keep in mid that this is only about a 1:20 demo so i have alot to add melody wise and drum wise, but glad you like it so far.

Not not bad.

So you're using the demo version... Which program? FL? Reason? Cubase? Well, whatever program, true that it does have some glitches in it =/ Either way, this song is pretty good. Many things missing. In the least, you have the beat down. I think you could do more with the melody, add some harmony. Keep going with it. I know you'll get even better.

ty:) i am using fl studio demo, but soon i will get the full, and in this demo is hard to do a long melody, coz there arent many things that i can do. thanks for the tip:)

Well... to tell you the truth...

The music is great. Has a very classical feel to it... but I have a major problem with your drums. Absolutely does not fit in this song. I know it's a sample drum beat. Drill_NB. Here's the blow by blow: (I may have little to say due to the drums)

1. Intro: Good intro. Nice start with the strings, but I think you shoud have gone a little bit slower.
2. Cool use of the close hats when you bring in the drums.
3. The drums have been poorly sliced. Did you put the whole sample on top of sliced drums from that sample? It was an interesting idea... but... it does not, really does not do well for the song.
4. Cool fade in and out with the drums, but I think you've done a little bit more than you were supposed to: there's awkward use of pitch, the slicing is basically all out of whack. I suggest try making your own sample drums. I can help you with that, if need be.
5. Everything else is pretty much in order. But, I believe what this song lacks is something of a sub-bass. That would be nice.
6. Cool fade outro. Nice.

Okay. Main problem: the drums. Using samples is cool, but you need to know exactly what you are doing with them: in particular with cut off, slicing, pitch modding, and velocity modding.

Try keeping in with originality, because I know some people are going to hassle you for that, but it really isn't a problem. Start learning how to make your own drum samples. I try and usually they come out well. If you need help, I'll be glad to do so.

But the major problem with your drums is the use of slicing. When I hear it, it realy is not pleasing to hear such... odd and awkward glitch. They have to be in time with the tempo... and they sound very out of place. Use in it in moderation... it's not bad, but I think it was poor.

The minor: the pitching. Very odd pitching. I usually do not touch this unless I intend on doing a fade out on my drums, or something along those lines. It's good that your messing with that... but that makes the song feel unorganized, along witht he slicing. I think you may need to practice some more with this. I'll be glad to help. PM me if you do. Keep practicing and keep it real~

Man... I envy you...

I've always wanted to do an a remix of a song from ape escape... I gotta get around to doing that. Man, this sounds awesome. Sooooo many memories... Dig the break beat style. At first, I didn't recognize from where the song came from, until I heard that melody. Another great remix. Love it everytime I hear it. Great job, mate.

Appreciate the positive comment, hope ya have a good day

Good times... goood times..

Wasn't able to get Ape Escape 2 on time though.. I feel... incomplete..... *sniffles*. Nice rendition. Yeah, a bit too punchy of a kick. I mostly heard this song in Ape Escape as a sort of drum and bass kind of song, but this one is pretty good. Brings back many memories... I gotta get back to playing that game. I forgot how much fun it was XD Thanks for the memories.
